Everytime I come to a race I want to win but these Worlds weren’t about winning a rainbow jersey or getting on the podium.
As some of you might know, I decided a year ago to leave the DTE in Milton and go back home and train in Bromont Centre national de cyclisme. This wasn’t an easy decision and this past year had its load of changes, challenges and doubts.
So this competition was more of a test to see how this past year had gone. Even though I didn’t podium this week I had my best overall results at a world championship with 7th in the sprint and 8th in the keirin. It was the best I felt physically and mentally on the bike in a long time. So now I can go back and fully trust this new process.
