This summer, my mindset and philosophy for the season was : quality over quantity. Simplicity. I wanted to be open minded and focused on progress rather than seeing races (and myself) as success or failure.
I carried this mindset through the start of the season, but I’ve gotten lost over the last several weeks… and I kind of lost myself, and lost my “spark” in the process.
I decided to come back home after Val di Sole World Cup to reset and recharge.
It is incredible what a few days at home can do. I feel like myself again. I’ve reconnected with my initial vision, and read a few books that are helping me find myself my confidence again. It’s a work in progress but I’m enjoying the process.
Training looks different here. Lots of indoor trainer rides with some varied winter training in the snow. I love it!
I’ll be back racing at the World Cups soon and I’m excited for it but for now, I keep recharging my mind and body as much as possible. »
