2023 season was good in its own ways. I found home in a new team and made new connections with some incredible teammates and now friends and got to race my bike around the world, all of which was amazing.
On the other side, I wasn’t able to get the results I had hoped for and I became increasingly tired as the season went on. When I got my selection letter for Panam Games, I felt like just the travel to Chile and back might kill me, even though I wasn’t too sure why.
I turned down my selection to spend some time at home and get some medical tests done. Turns out I have been racing with mono for the better part of the summer…
I was very glad I made the decision to stay home, get healthy and build towards the Olympics next year.
Times like these really show you who your true friends and supporters are. I am so ready to take on this Olympic year now!
