Forget those typical cyclecomputers
Forget those typical cyclecomputers with the wire coiled around the front brake's cable housing. Italy's Team Milram is going high tech this season with Garmin Edge 305 GPS units. They're wireless and don't even need a wheel sensor.
The satellite-based technology will allow Milram riders -- led by renowned road sprinters Erik Zabel and Alessandro Petacchi -- to see all the typical cyclecomputer data as well as altitude and heart rate. Team officials -- and, reportedly, the rest of us -- will be able to monitor each rider's performance on Garmin's mapping and training site.
RBR has been testing an Edge 305 ($349 retail) and we expect to post our review on Feb. 22. Hint : We're really envious of those Milram guys. Stay tuned.
