My response to Jetze Plat‘s attack in todays road race at the World Championships.
There were about four of us left in lap four and the attack went through a heavy descent with a left hand turn at the bottom. I knew I could take the turn super fast but didn’t leave enough room behind the others in the break away group. So I met one of them I’m the middle of the turn, hit the back of them (sorry) which resulted me going head first for the tires you can see in this picture.
I did a full 360 flip as it’s my right arm that has two small fractures and my left arm is fine. (Note position of right arm in this photo).
Thank the Lord I’m ok and only have the two small fractures in my elbow and wrist. I’ll be even more gimpy for a bit which is second to worse to missing out on the rest of that race.
Pretty awesome pic though! Bike racing….
