Lex Albrecht va participer à la course Race Across America, une épreuve de plus de 4800 km, au sein d’une équipe de 8 personnes, à compter de samedi prochain le 19 juin. Elle nous présente sa monture.
« This is the bike I’m racing Race Across America on, in 4 days! This is a dream bike for a dream race, and it’s all becoming reality.
It. Is. A. Machine.
The BMC Time Machine Road is BMC’s most aero road bike. The frame is like a TT frame, but it’s set up with road bike geometry. In other words, this bike is made to go fast, out of the box.
I try to keep braking to a minimum (breaking too, actually) but the SRAM Red hydraulic disc brakes are super powerful and controlable for when I do need to slow down.
Oh, and this bike weighs 8 kilos. That’s it.
So, this is New Bike Day! Time to celebrate with a RIDE. Cannot wait to share the races and adventures we’re about to have this year, »
It's available in a 1x option, but I’m running a Sram road Red AXS 2x drivetrain. It’s 12-speed and the SRAM Red eTap AXS derailleurs and shifters are connected without wires: they use Bluetooth to communicate from the cockpit, down and back. I’m running a 10-28 SRAM Red block cassette with 48-35 for rings. The Integraded Cockpit System (ICS) cockpit is called the ICS Aero, and it is the most aerodynamic ICS cockpit that BMC makes. The aero bar was actually even designed to minimize frontal surface area to reduce drag.
