It’s hard for me to find the words to describe this last year.
This was the first truly happy experience I had on a bike in 2021 and it was already way down the spring classics… That I didn’t get to race.
It was the ultimate test for me to show grits, determination, dedication, courage, integrity and probably more…
Looking at pics to share to cap off 2021 was kind of difficult, I ended up asking myself what flipped the coin, when was the moment I realized I had to change my environment and step out of the shadows and I remembered that trip to Tenerife with Tactic Sport.
So I flipped through the pics and stumbled upon this incredible photo from Guillem Casanova and I gasped, if there was one to be, this was the one. How to describe the feeling of 2021 in one image ?
But it’s not a sad ending story you know because "in dreams begin responsibilities" and I didn’t let things get in my way for too long.
From that moment on, I left my team, I found a new team, I entered my first mountain race, I did a gran fondo, I won it too…
On and all I’ve pushed myself so far out my comfort zone and came out on top. Light, free, happy and motivated for yet another cycling year.
So many people need to be thanked for their support during these times.
Thank you for lifting me up.
