So this is the battle I will be facing over the next few weeks. From what I can remember, the caravan stop suddenly as I was coming back from a nature brake. I didn’t have much time to react and my left knee collided with a car which cause a fracture to my tibial plateau. As you can see on the picture, the fracture required surgery to stabilize the break.
I will fly home to Canada in a couple days and I will start rehab as soon as possible. It’s always a scary thing to suffer an injury of this magnitude. According to the doctors at the Roeselare hospital, I was fairly lucky with the fracture and full recovery is expected.
Big thank you to the hospital staff for taking care of me and thanks to the whole Israel Cycling Academy for the amazing support in this difficult time.
I will fight to comeback stronger than ever! »
