Like I mentioned yesterday, I was hoping the rest of Canada would realize what happened in Finland yesterday with the victory of Alex Harvey.
I was worried that only in Quebec it would make all the front pages and TV news opening story. Unfortunately I was right. Not a word on Alex on these 3 papers (Globe and Mail, Financial Post, Vancouver Sun), two of them being National papers.
People who know me know how much I love Canada, but often I feel bad for athletes who are not from Quebec because they never get the visibility and support they deserve.
I felt the same with Erik Guay when he also won the World Championship in Super-G with teammate Manuel Osborne-Paradis in 3rd. Those athletes are raising our flag high around the world and they deserve more attention and support.
