Stage 8 has been affected badly by torrential rainfall. Due to the rain, the event has encountered standstill traffic in Otaheite and prompted officials of the Tour of Trinidad & Tobago to call for an end of Stage 8.

Stage 7 of the Tour of T&T had to be cancelled after Police Officers failed to show up for the event. The reason for the their absence was later given that no officers were available since practice for their Independence Day Parade was ongoing.
