What is your favourite food ?
My own cooking, and home cooked meals; We spend too much time in restaurants.

Do you have any pets or hobbies ?
No pets. Cooking, music and reading.

What is your favourite charity ?
World Bicycle Relief – because it is better to teach a man to fish than to give him a single fish.

What would be your cycling tip to the average rider ?
Faster you pedal, the faster you go ! Always look forward, but don’t forget to look back to see where you came from.
Why do you want to ride on the Cervélo TestTeam ?
To be able to evolve as a cyclist and grow with brands that share the same philosophies : respect and hard work to achieve their goals.

What is your personal cycling goal for 2009 ?
To learn from the classics riders and Thor to improve my sprint and also to become a better tactician and rider.

What is your product development goal for 2009 ?
Learn from the product to use it to its best potential.

When you knew you wanted to be a pro ?
At my first UCI race – Tour de l’Abitibi where I saw how well organized and how much fun the Rabobank Jr team had.

What is your favourite training ride ?
The next one…

What is your all time favourite cycling moment ?
Greg Lemond winning the final stage of the Tour de France by using bar extensions and how that opened doors for further evolution in cycling.

What is your favourite ride of all time ?
Off in the dolomites riding from one major climb to another and enjoying the scenery at the summit and the thrill in the downhill. And of course a stop for a cappuccino !

What do you want to do after your career in cycling ?
I haven’t thought about it. I enjoy living in the moment. But if I don’t keep up with something cycling related, I’d be working in the restaurant industry either cooking or wine related.
