Lyne had a fabulous season in 2001 and, of course, her Saturn Team renewed her contract for 2002.

First thing in 2002, we learned that Lyne was chosen Best female cyclo-cross rider by Cyclingnews on January 4, 2002.

On January 6, she won the Cyclocross Grand Prix de France in Nommay, as reported by The Canadian Cyclist on January 11.

On January 21, we learned that Lyne's request to represent Canada at the Cyclo-cross World Championships in Zolder, Belgium was denied by the High Performance Committee of the Canadian Cyclist Association. That decision was largely commented on The Canadian Cyclist Open Forum.

Lyne finished second at the McLane Pacific Downtown Grand Prix and wins on wins on March 3.

Lyne finished second at the Rocky Hill Road Race of the 15th Sequoia Cycling Classic in California on March 9. Details here and there.

Lyne finished 10th on March 10 at the Visalia Criterium of the Sequoia Classic.

Lyne finished 4th on March 17 at the Redlands Classic.

Lyne wins at Sea Otter on March 23.

Lyne finished second at the Solano Bicycle Classic in California on March 30.

Lyne Bessette and Chris Horner lead after 3 of 7 events of the VeloNews Bro Tour virtual season.

Lyne was 6 th at the Montreal World Cup on June 1st and 5th at the Tour du Grand Montréal on June 4

Lyne finished fifth at the HP Women's Challenge, June 15-23

Lyne wins Fitchburg-Longsjo on June 29.

Lyns wins the bronze medal at the time trial and finishes 7th at the road race at the Commonwealth Games, July 27-August 3.

Lyne wins the bronze medal at the time trial and finishes 6th at the road race at the Road National Championships, August 8-10.

Lyne finishes second at the Mt.Washington Hillclimb on August 24

Lyne finished 13th at the Grand Prix de Suisse féminin, September 8

Lyne finishes 22nd at the time trial on October 9 at the World Championships in Zolder, Belgium. And because of an accident, she can't complete the road race on October 12.

Bessette back to Saturn for 2003. Team Saturn 2003 ; Saturn beefs up men's team, welcomes back Bessette.
