On March 4, she won the McLane Pacific Bicycle Classic in California. Read Mercury-Viatel, Saturn roll in Merced.

On March 14, Lyne broke her collarbone in the Redlands Bicycle Classic and will be out for a few weeks.
Lyne was in the Tour of the Gila, May 2-6. She was third on May 2, second on May 3 and May 4, fourth on May 5 and third in the last stage.
Lyne wins the Tour de l'Aude, May 18-27, for a second time.
Lyne is third at the Montreal Women's World Cup on June 2. Photos.
Lyne wins the 18th Hewlett Packard International Women's Challenge held in 13 stages, June 13-24.
Lyne wins the Fitchburg-Longsjo Classic for the third times in a row, a record for this race held since 1960.
Lyne wins the Tour of Arlington on July 8.
Lyne wins both Canadian Championships, the road race and the time trial.
After winning the first stage of the Tour de 'Toona, Lyne fells during the third stage on August 3 and she can't finish the race.
Lyne is fourth at the Saturn Cycling Classic, on August 11 at Breckenridge Colorado and tenth at the Timex International Women's Open on August 19.
Lyne wins stages 3 and 4 of the Grand Prix Féminin International du Québec at the end of August and begins the Holland Ladies Tour in September. She fells twice during stage 2 and can't finish the race.
Lyne finished 25th at the Grand Prix de Suisse Féminin on September 9, helping Anna Millward to keep her advance for the World Cup.
Then Lyne entered the Tour de Suisse féminin. She was second on the first stage on September 11 but the was not able the run the last stage on September 14, victim of a virus.
On September 25, Lyne announced the end of her 2001 season on road.
On October 21, Lyne was chosen Best female cyclist on road in Quebec for 2001.
On October 26 we learned that Lyne was the National Racing Calendar Champion in the USA for 2001 and on November 17 Lyne was named Canadian Cyclist of the Year.
On November 28, Velonews named Lyne North American Cyclist of the Year.

At the end of her road season, Lyne decided to cyclocross, to keep the shape, without pressure. And ... Lyne won at Lost Valley on September 30, she won her second race on October 13, and won the Amherst International Cyclo-cross on October 27 (photo) and is still unbeaten, winning her fourth consecutive race, the Pennsylvania's Chameleon Cross on November 10 (photo). An interview with Lyne and Tim Johnson on November 10. On November 17, Lyne was second at the SuperCup 'Cross Round #2 in Chicago (many photos are available). On November 30, Velonews named Lyne Cyclo-Cross Woman of the Year in North America for Year 2001. On December 11, we learned that Lyne won the New England Cross Championship Series #6 in Merrimack, New Hampshire and that she would like to represent Canada at the Cyclo-cross World Championships (Zolder, Belgium, February 2) but that the Canadian Cyclist Association perhaps won't accept. Lyne finishes fourth at the SuperCup Round #3 in Baltimore on December 16.
