The Angele Crest 100 mile endurance run didn't go well for me.

The smog and pollution are pretty bad in the Los Angeles area, we can´t even see the mountains. After 1 mile in the race (yes, only 1 mile), I was just dying for oxygen, I was suffocating. I couldn´t control my heart rate and really burned all my energy into breathing. I fought hard, but at mile 40, my lungs were on fire, my nose was bleeding, I was coughing… I was pretty weak. It happened way too early in the race and felt totally discouraged.

Even though I was still making the cutoffs, the breathing was getting worse and worse as I was going closer and closer to LA. I called it quit at Mile 52.

I then decided I was done with running, no more ultras for me.

Let´s see how long my retirement will last !

Even though I didn't finish my race, I still enjoyed my trip to LA! I met tons of new ultra running friends (you know who you are) and Christian Lemay was an awesome host: he kept me entertained and fed me well for 3 full days. Plus I can now say I slept 3 nights right next to David Lee Roth´s residence !
