Last week we asked : "When do you wear a cycling helmet ?" The response was overwhelming and heartening. More than 3,600 of you voted, and 91% said you strap on a helmet for every ride.
Lots of readers also posted opinions about helmets on our Comments page. We read numerous testimonials crediting helmets for preventing serious head injuries and even death. It's encouraging that so many of you ride with this protection.
As several commenters note, strapping on a helmet is as simple as buckling a seat belt for driving. It's almost mindlessly automatic. But it can make the difference between walking away from an accident or being carried away.
Yes, we're preaching to the choir -- and thankful of it.
