Marathon de Montréal

Different baby, same race, same running mama!

If you want to optimize your marathon time, do not run 100 miles 2 weeks prior your race. Please follow me for more coaching advices.

By ranking 3rd in my age group at the Montreal marathon in 2023, I received a free entry for the following year, deferred to 2025 because I was pregnant with Arthur.

I knew running a marathon shortly after Haliburton 100 miles was a stretch, but it was free, it was a good excuse to visit my family and I always love running in my hometown. So why not?

Wow… that didn’t go well! Which was expected. I had NOTHING left in my legs. They were heavy and had zero power. My glutes gave up on me at 26km and I was miserable all the way to the end. Terrible finishing time. Probably one of my worse race ever. No regrets, I’m happy with my visit to Montreal, but I’ll never do that again!

Big thanks to Alexandre Patterson who cheered me up at 2 locations on the course. We haven’t seen each other in ~30 years. Our reunion was brief but very appreciated. Seeing a familiar face when you run always make a difference.
