Cheers to all health professionals who said I’ll never run longer than 5 km!
That’s what I was told after losing my piriformis. I swore to myself one day I’ll get another buckle just to prove them wrong.
Well it only took me 10 years, but I finally did it !!!
Some people call it perseverance, my dad says I’m stubborn !
I certainly didn’t beat any speed record with my 24h18 (that includes all my pumping breaks), but I’m now the youngest mama to own this buckle at 4 months postpartum.
Special thanks to:
. Rich Darke for bringing me hot soup for the evening (I was starving!)
. My besties who cheered me up from start to finish
. The RDs who gave me access to an electric plug in the 100miler tent to allow me to pump my milk (it made a world of difference in my race)
. My hubby for taking care of our kids while I was training and racing
. All volunteers
Now time to eat and take a few days off from running!!!
