The surgeon called this morning, December 12. Turns out he treated me not with one, not with two, but three procedures!

(1) He extracted a bone
(2) He stitched the tears in the deltoid ligament
(3) My anatomy is apparently a lot better than the cadavers he practiced on and my bones were perfect to insert the synthetic ligament. So he installed it!

On top of repairing the tears, I’m now the proud owner of a synthetic ligament. Really hope I’ll get a bionic ankle once I recover

Overall, the surgeon is very happy with the surgery.

But… 3 procedures mean touching the ligament, extracting a bone and drilling holes in the bones… I am in a lot of pain now.

Wine is not part of the prescribed medication, but it does help. It helps a lot!
